James Brown Live At The Apollo (Expanded Edition CD) Recording a live show in a theatre like The Apollo in was no small feat. The effort put into making this recording paid off in giving the world one of the greatest live albums ever made. The mastering done for this expanded CD makes the experience even better/5(). Reply

I believe they are sourced from high resolution digital files. The resulting LPs sound fine--better than fine, really--but don't buy them. Reply

A performance of "Lost Someone" is the centerpiece of Brown's album Live at the Apollo. Nearly 11 minutes long and spanning two tracks on the original LP release (the end of Side 1 and the beginning of Side 2), it is widely regarded as the album's high point and as . Reply

When King Records owner Syd Nathan refused to fund the recording, thinking it commercial folly, Brown single-mindedly proceeded anyway, paying for it out of his own pocket. He had been out on the road night after night for a while, and he knew that the magic that was. Reply
