  This release has several label variations; above the spindle hole and directly below the Arista logo, this release has THE KINKS with MISFITS right under it, to the right of the spindle hole this release has SIDE 1 with 33 1/3 RPM under it and Arista Records Inc. under that, to the left of the spindle hole this release has the catalogue # with (AB SA) under it and Unauthorized duplication is a 5/5(1).   Hay Fever, A Rock & Roll Fantasy and Permanent Waves are my standouts. However, Live Life and Get Up are my picks along with Misfits to the songs I would say should be on any Kinks collection. The rock sound the Kinks went away from in the early 70s came back at this point. I think any rock fan would enjoy this album; not just Kinks fans/5(53). Reply

  The Kinks MISFITS album of was riding the coat tails of their wildly successful Sleepwalker LP. What we find are a series of vignettes about non-normal persons MISFITS. The Kinks themselves often felt they too were a non-Normal band and Misfits as well.5/5(2). Reply

  "Misfits," a classic outsider rallying cry, and "Rock and Roll Fantasy" provide the two touchstones for the album -- Davies admits that he and the Kinks will never be embraced by the rock & roll mainstream, but after Elvis' death, he's not even sure if rock & roll is something for mature adults to do.
